Understanding the challenges that face Indigenous students, Bond University decided to launch a range of support programs and scholarships to allow more Indigenous students to successfully complete their high school and tertiary education. 

Bond currently has over 25 Indigenous students studying on campus, five of those on full scholarships with several more scholarships on offer in 2013.

Bond is proud to support the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) where 100 Bond students mentor Indigenous students from seven local Gold Coast high schools on a regular basis. The program is seeing astounding results with students associated with AIME finishing school at almost the same rate as every Australian child. 

In May 2012, the Nyombile Centre at Bond University was created to provide support for Bond's Indigenous community. The Centre offers the services of an Indigenous Cultural Support Officer who assists Bond's Indigenous students with the unique challenges that they may face in moving from remote communities and undertaking the new challenge of university study.

To help support these activities, Bond University holds an annual Indigenous Art Auction Gala Dinner featuring unique artworks from across Australia, It also incorporates a silent auction of travel vouchers, sports memorabilia and other unique prizes along with a three course gourmet dinner, drinks and live entertainment. 

Dr Patrick Corrigan AM is the Patron of the event and ISS Facility Services are the major sponsors of the event and we are grateful for their support and generosity towards Indigenous higher education and Bond University.
