Bond University was given its University status by an Act of the State of Queensland’s Parliament, assented to on April 23, 1987.

Bond University is recognized as an accredited Australian university by the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA). MCEETYA includes the Commonwealth Minister of Education and all Australian State and mainland Territory Ministers of Education and governs the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Bond University is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The Vice-Chancellor of Bond University is a member of Universities Australia, formerly the Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee (AV-CC), and is a signatory to the Code of Ethical Practice in the Provision of Education to International Students by Australian Higher Education Institutions.

Bond is required to register its courses for international students with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) at http://cricos.dest.gov.au

CRICOS is legislated by the Department of Education Science and Training (DEST), our Ministry of Education. As a registered and accredited Australian institution, our provider code is 00017B.

Bond is also listed on the DEST site as a registered higher education provider.
