ABC Open Producer – Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Gold Coast

 2003

Enrolled in Master of Journalism at Bond University.

Gained industry experience across multiple media platforms through internships arranged by Bond professors.

Worked in consultation with Bond course supervisor on a research project to examine setting up a magazine (which is now a reality).

2004

Completed master’s degree in less than 12 months thanks to Bond’s accelerated schedule.

Gained full-time employment as a journalist and photographer for the Koori Mail newspaper.

2005Won the Henry Mayer Media Prize for a story on child abuse.
2008Joined National Indigenous Television (NITV) as producer and video journalist for their National News team.
 2010

Launched Gold Coast-based Indigenous magazine – Be Counted.

Joined ABC as Open Producer, working with communities to tell individuals’ stories through the ABC via video, photography, audio and text.

 2011Created and launched ABC Open’s DreamBox project.
 2012Won Clarion Award for Online Journalism in collaboration with other ABC Open Producers for Aftermath: Stories of Disaster, Resilience and Recovery.
 2013Finalist for the Australian Human Rights Print and Online Award for ABC Open’s DreamBox project.
