 1990-1996

Studied Associate Diploma in Applied Science (Farm Management) and worked in various jobs before travelling overseas.
 1997-1998Enrolled in Bachelor of Arts (Journalism, International Relations) at 24 years of age, attracted by the prospect of qualifying in two years instead of three
Gained practical newsroom experience and career contacts through internship at Channel 9 Gold Coast News, arranged by Prof. Mark Pearson
Gained further experience and contacts through work placement at Channel 10 News in Brisbane, arranged by Bond
 1998Secured position as Sports Reporter for WIN Television in Townsville through contacts made during Channel 9 internship Eventually moved into general reporting roles in north Queensland and Toowoomba .
 2002Returned to Channel Nine Gold Coast News, specialising in court reporting.
 2005Secured reporting position with ABC radio news in Brisbane.
 2006Relocated to the Gold Coast, writing and presenting news bulletins for ABC 91.7 Coast FM .
 2010-2012Took up role as the ABC’s television news reporter on the Gold Coast, filing stories for 7pm news, 7.30 Report, ABC’s 24-hour news channel and ABC radio.
