Dr Gigi Kwan

After studying at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada, Gigi relocated to Australia to further pursue her passion for medicine and enrolled in Bond's Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery program.

2005Completed Bachelor of Science in microbiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, before moving to Australia to enrol in Bond’s Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
2008Undertook extensive clinical placements throughout the MBBS program including radiology rotations at the Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in the United States
2009

In collaboration with fellow inaugural MBBS graduate Dr Charlie Hsu and under the supervision of Dr Peter Cole, student research project  presented as poster presentation at the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ) annual scientific meeting

In collaboration with fellow inaugural MBBS graduate Dr Charlie Hsu and Dr Aakriti Chawla and under supervision of Associate Professor David Christie, student research project presented as poster presentation at the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) annual scientific meeting

Completed MBBS in less than five years, winning the John Kearney Clinical Ophthalmology Award

2010

Commenced internship at Eastern Health – one of Melbourne’s largest metropolitan health services

In collaboration with Dr Charlie Hsu, Professor Mieke Van Driel and Dr Shane Thompson, research publications listed in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews
