Professor and Department Head – Exercise and Sport Science

Full-time, continuing appointment Position Reference No. HSM1333 About the Position
The School of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a full-time Professor of Exercise and Sport Science to take on the lead role as Head of the Department of Exercise and Sport Science within the School, including the lead role as Director of the Collaborative Research Network for Advancing Exercise and Sport Science, recently funded ($5.7 million) for the next 4 years in partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport, University of Queensland and the University of Sydney. This leadership position will contribute to the Faculty and University by providing leadership in research and scholarship, teaching, academic administration and community engagement, particularly in the professional field of exercise and sport science. This position is a member of the School executive and will be required to make a broader leadership contribution within the Faculty commensurate with experience and interests. About the Person
The successful applicant will have a PhD and be a nationally and/or internationally recognised exemplar in academic exercise and sport science practice, teaching and research. Candidates will be expected to have an outstanding track record in exercise and sport science disciplinary leadership, research and scholarship in teaching and learning practice. ESSA Accreditation as an Exercise Scientist and/or Advanced Exercise Physiologist (or eligibility) in Australia is a requirement for this position. Remuneration
A continuing appointment at the Professorial level will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary will be negotiated and commensurate with skills and experience and be fully competitive in the Australian market. Salary packaging options are available.
