Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching

The Bond Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching is responsible for providing leadership and support of teaching across the University, including teaching and learning policy development, and has overall responsibility for the work of the Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT). The Director of Learning and Teaching reports to this position.

Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT)

The Office of Learning and Teaching supports Bond University and its staff in their pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning through services across six key functional areas.

Learning and Teaching’s Six Key Functional Areas are:

  • Leading the quality assurance process at Bond University ensuring transparency and performance enhancement.
  • Coordinating curriculum review and assurance of learning processes across all disciplines.
  • Producing, mentoring and disseminating Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) research.
  • Providing learning supports to Bond University undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Inducting new academics and supporting learning and teaching performance development of experienced academics.
  • Encouraging and rewarding outstanding contribution to student learning at Bond and at the inter/national level.
     

The unit reports to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching. Staffing includes both academic and professional staff.  More

 

Teaching and Learning Committee

Bond’s Teaching and Learning Committee as a Standing Committee of Academic Senate promotes university-wide procedures, processes and expectations for advancement of Bond University’s aspirations and strategic priorities in enhancing excellence in learning and teaching. The members of the Committee include the Pro Vice -Chancellor Learning and Teaching (Chair), Chairs of each of the Faculty Learning and Teaching Committees, Chair of Academic Senate, Director Information Services, Director Human Resources, the Director Office of Learning and Teaching, and a postgraduate and undergraduate student representative.

Sub-committees of the Teaching and Learning Committee are appointed from time-to-time to address specific issues such as university-wide assessment practices and changes to the current Student Evaluation System (TEVALS).  

 

Faculty Tecahing and Learning Representatives

These staff lead the Teaching and Learning Committees within their faculties and represent their faculty on the University Teaching and Learning Committee. The OLT works with these staff to ensure regular communication about Bond-wide learning and teaching initiatives and to provide faculty-based support in particular areas as required.
