Call for Two Semester 123 Learning and Teaching Fellows

Learning and Teaching Fellowship (Semester 3)
Two $15,000 academic fellowships are available to support research into higher education learning and teaching. You are invited to apply for this fellowship if you are an early career or established researcher in any realm of scholarship of teaching and learning such as group work, mobile learning, engaging students or work integrated learning. The money may be used for conference travel, purchase of software or supplementary hardware, translation services, a research assistant and/or other related expenses.
Nominees are either a Faculty Academic on a Research Semester or a Visiting Scholar.

Submission Guidelines

The application is to be a maximum of three pages (not including the budget) in Word format. Single spaced. 12 pt. font.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Subsequent pages to the three page maximum will not be considered.
Links to online materials may be inserted. However, please ensure that the three pages are stand-alone, as links from the document may not be followed.
Include your contact information – name, rank, faculty, email address, Bond phone number.
Your application should focus on a question, theme or issue in higher education learning and teaching. Briefly describe the context, key published literature, and method of your intended or ongoing research in this area.
Outline your plans to accomplish each of the following activities. These activities must be aligned with the described teaching and learning research focus. All activities (other than plans for relevant and sustained L&T research) must occur in Semester 123.

  • Learning and Teaching (L&T) workshop for your Faculty.
  • L&T workshop for Bond.
  • L&T conference paper/presentation.
  • Published peer-reviewed L&T scholarly journal paper submission.
  • Plan for relevant and sustained L&T research beyond the term of the Fellowship.

 The appended budget must be a maximum of two pages in length. The budget should be directly aligned with dot-points one to four above. Include as much detail as possible. For example, for the conference paper/presentation, include an actual flight cost, hotel accommodation, conference registration fee, etc.

Application Review

All applications will be peer-reviewed by the Faculty Representatives of the University Teaching and Learning Committee (two representatives from each Faculty and one from ISDA). If applications are lodged by a member of this committee, he/she will not be involved in the peer review process.
