Strengthening Research-based Teaching at Bond

From the Staff viewpoint research-based teaching:

  • provides evidence of research into the teaching and learning of the subject area, leading to change and improvement in the subject program and delivery
  • allows staff to introduce students to their research projects
  • allows staff to benefit from student dialogue and involvement in the research
  • provides staff with a way of communicating their excitement and a thirst for knowledge
  • includes devising  research activities as part of the subject program, thus using assessment for constructive learning purposes rather than grading only
  • engages students in existing University research projects, where possible for credit, for example through internships
  • incorporates subject activities on problem solving, inquiry, analysis, reflection and critical thinking
