Bond Enjoys a ‘Cuppa’ for a Cause

23 May 2007

Gold Coasters are invited to take part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea at the Bond University Sports Centre this Thursday, May 24, to help raise funds for The Cancer Council Queensland.

Organised by Bond’s Sports Centre and Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine the event aims to raise funds for The Cancer Council to support research in the prevention and detection of cancer.

Attending tomorrow to lend their support to the cause will be the partners of Gold Coast Titans players, including Kristy Prince (wife of Scott Prince) and Sasha Darnbrough (partner of Richie Mathers).

The morning tea is generously sponsored by local Gold Coast businesses including Subway, Brumbies, Bakers Delight, Zarraffas Coffee, Duvall’s Bakery, Champagne Bakery, Woolworths, Krish Indian Cuisine, Utopia Health and Beauty and Detour Hair.

Held Australia-wide, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is one of The Cancer Council’s most popular fundraising events, and is the largest and most successful event of its kind in Australia.

The Cancer Council is a not-for-profit organisation which relies entirely on funds raised. They aim to eliminate cancer through research, patient care, prevention and early detection.

Bond University’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser is open to Bond staff and students, Sports Centre members and the local community.

Head down to the Bond University Sports Centre pool tomorrow between 11am and 2pm and have a cup of tea and a bite to eat for a great cause.
