2006 Australian of the Year Professor Ian Frazer, best known for his work on the development of a cervical cancer vaccine, will visit the Gold Coast this Thursday 8 March.
Professor Frazer will be the guest speaker at the Zonta Club’s International Women’s Day breakfast at Bond University, before delivering a seminar to Bond’s medical staff and students on the cancer-causing Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
HPV leads to half a million cases of cancer in women around the world each year, and takes hundreds of thousands of lives.
Professor Frazer will also address a Bond University Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine Research Showcase, to discuss how Australian universities should be looking for opportunities to partner with industry to undertake research that really matters to Australians.
The Health Sciences and Medicine Research Showcase will see Bond’s academic experts mingle with local Gold Coast clinicians and industry leaders to discuss opportunities for research partnerships.
