Students Sign On To 2008

01 January 2008

This semester’s Club Sign On Day has set the pace for what is set to be an action-packed year for Bond.

The biggest orientation event of the semester, Club Sign On Day was hosted by Student Council last Friday.

Students flocked to the lakeside festivities to grab a bite to eat and sign-up to some of the 40 + clubs and societies represented. From the Capoeira (a dancing martial arts form) and Salsa clubs, to the Beer and Social Interaction Club, there was a club or society to suit everyone.

Local businesses supported the event in their droves, and newly inducted Bond students leapt at the chance to take advantage of the discount offers being spruiked by companies such as the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Paramount Adventures, Skydive Queensland, the Cheyne Horan School of Surf and Costless Car Rentals.

Red Bull and Cold Rock freebies helped to cool things down a little, while the ever-popular nightclub stalls attracted the usual line-ups.

Above all, it was a chance to meet fellow Bondies in what was, for some, the first of many social events to come!
