About Bond University
Bond University
Mission
To produce uniquely identifiable graduates who are leaders and thinkers, imbued with initiative, the spirit of free enterprise and a continuing quest for intellectual inquiry, challenge and opportunity.
Access to world-class academics
Bond’s unbeatable edge is its genuine commitment to the individual. Studying in small classes, you’ll have one-on-one access to Australia’s leading academics who mentor each student through our open door policy.
Our professors, lecturers and guest speakers are internationally renowned for their unique blend of high-level academic qualifications and real-life practical experience consulting to major corporations worldwide. We also have a number of visiting professors from all over the world who bring an international perspective to our teaching.
“Bond’s small class sizes and low student:staff ratio
are a real strength and a distinguishing factor between it and most, if
not all other Australian universities.”

Access to first-class facilities
Studying at Bond University’s world-class campus on Queensland’s Gold Coast, you’ll gain a clear advantage through easy access to unparalleled academic, technological and recreational facilities.
These include the Bond University Library which the 2004 Rodski Survey ranked in Australia’s Top 5 and a dedicated Law Library.
“The most recent of the biannual Rodski surveys puts Bond
University’s library in the top 5 of Australian and New Zealand libraries
… and at the top on communicating with customers.”

Option to accelerate your degree
Bond University schedules three semesters each year, with the opportunity to commence most degrees in January, May or September.
This intensive study program means that you will complete your degree much sooner. Typically, Bond students complete a Bachelor degree in two years and a Masters degree in one year.
You also have the flexibility of being able to combine most degrees within a faculty or across different faculties, allowing you to tailor studies to suit your individual interests and career goals. Combined degrees are usually completed within three years.
“In a sector where a two semester academic year is the
norm, students willing (and able) to opt for a three semester study are
among those already showing more initiative and enterprise.

Ability to gain hands-on experience
At Bond University, education is more than scientific theory and text-book case studies.
In every faculty and every discipline, we focus on real-life scenarios where technical skills and theoretical knowledge are challenged by the workplace complexities of strategic, economic, competitive, human and political issues.
This intensely practical professional development approach fosters graduates who are ready, willing and able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact in the workplace.
According to our employers, it’s what distinguishes Bond graduates from all others.
“Bond University graduates are better prepared for the
workforce than other university graduates.”

Access to blue-chip employers
Bond’s unparalleled academic reputation coupled with our established links with business and industry mean that, when it comes to recruitment, our graduates are the first choice for many leading blue-chip employers.
In addition to the support provided by lecturers and professors in sourcing high-level graduate placement programs and internships, the University Career Development Centre advertises full time and part time vacancies and is available to assist with guidance on resume and interview preparation, as well as job-seeking whilst studying and after graduation.
As a result, Bond graduates have the highest percentage rate of full-time employment and the second highest mean starting salary when compared with graduates from Australia’s leading Group of 8 universities.
“I think that Bond graduates bring a different perspective
to those from other universities. Bond graduates have reenergized the
business, brought passion and enthusiasm for learning, with a strong focus
on customer relations and business outcomes.”

“The 2003 staff survey suggests the special characteristics
of ‘the Bond graduate’ are further reinforced by the small community,
the easy access to staff, a very helpful approach to financial assistance,
and an orientation towards employment. This positive combination results
in students expressing a special sense of commitment and alumni exhibiting
long-term loyalty.”
