While it’s common knowledge that Australia is rapidly ageing, knowledge – especially empirical knowledge – about accommodation options for Australia’s ageing population, is not so common.

This research project, funded jointly by the Australian Research Council (ARC), 26 seniors living industry sponsors, and three universities (The University of Sydney, The University of New South Wales, and Bond University), is the largest-ever Australian research grant examining the costs and benefits of a range of seniors living alternatives. Including cash and in-kind contributions, the value of this research effort is conservatively estimated at AU $1,500,000.
