Our Mission

The mission of the Australian Centre for Family Business is to:

  • contribute to the economic and social development of Australia by enhancing the prospects for profitable continuity of Australian family businesses, and

The primary function of the ACFB is to conduct quantitative and qualitative research studies that concentrate on the short- and long-term concerns of the family business community to ensure relevance to contemporary national needs.

The ACFB’s secondary function is to facilitate the dissemination of the results of ACFB research to:

  1. the academic community via academic journal publications and conferences,
  2. to consultants and advisors to family businesses through presentations and workshops, and
  3. to the family business community through:
    • classroom instruction to Bond University family business undergraduate students
    • executive education, specifically, the Bond Executive MBA in family business, and Graduate Certificate in Family Business.
    • involvement with family business networks, specifically Family Business Australia

Partner with the ACFB to continue to achieve this mission

The ACFB functions as a stand alone research centre within the Faculty of Business, Technology and Sustainable Development at Bond University. The majority of the work conducted by the ACFB requires additional, outside the University, funding support.
