What current students have to say:

What a journey! My first impressions of the Family Business EMBA at Bond Uni -- The calibre of lecturers and their lack of arrogance, willingness to assist, as well as their interest in the students was amazing. Definitely a full on learning experience with the added advantage of a small group of like minded people going on the journey with you.

What previous students have to say:

I chose to study at Bond because of its interest in family business, and I wasn't disappointed. The lectures and tutes, the conversations...all of it incredibly worthwhile and enjoyable, and great learning both personally and professionally.

I took Justin Craig’s class on Professionalising the Family Business in 2000. It was a fascinating class that gave me a new perspective and realistic understanding of the unique requirements and challenges of family businesses, and the stages that they typically experience. The concepts, particularly regarding corporate governance and succession, have been incredibly useful since finishing my MBA. They have given me a sold base on which to make educated business decisions that have really paid off. Since starting Cygnett in 2003, an Audio Accessory business with my brother and sister, we are actively incorporating a structure that supports our family business to grow into the future.

The class ‘Professionalising the Family Business’ was great in the sense that I came to the realization that problems that occur to my family business in Colombia were not only happening to us, but also happening to many family-owned businesses around the world. The class opened up a wide range of possible solutions and ways of facing these problems through the understanding of concepts like the Family Council. Since the completion of my MBA program and my return to the family business in Colombia, I've faced our problems from a different perspective applying concepts learnt in the class and making the family more aware of the importance of having clear definitions of what is family and what is business, and how we can take advantage of combining both.
