The Globalisation and Development Centre at Bond University is proud to announce an international conference to be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, September 26-27, 2008.

How Globalisation is Shaping the Asia-Pacific: Multi-disciplinary Perspectives

The Conference aims to bring together a leading multi-disciplinary group of researchers and policy-makers from across the region to discuss how globalisation is affecting the Asia-Pacific.  For example, there will sessions to discuss issues to do with bilateral trade and investment. Another featured session will be dedicated to Japan-Australia relations. Other issues discussed will revolve around growing regionalism and the move away from multilateralism. A distinguishing feature of the Conference will be its explicit multi-disciplinary focus. An explicit objective of the Globalisation and Development Centre is to bring together researchers studying various aspects of business (economics, finance, management), the law and international relations to study the process of globalisation and development.

The Conference aims to further understanding and cooperation in what is a rapidly changing Asia-Pacific region. It will present challenging international speakers and national speakers at the forefront of the policy-making.  We also hope that the Conference will surpass expectations and provide a useful professional development experience and networking opportunity.
