Indigenous Employment in Tourism - An Untapped Resource
With David Baffsky AO – Chairperson of Accor Asia Pacific
Indigenous Australians have made a great name for themselves in sports and the arts, but in so many sectors of industry their numbers are under-represented. The way ahead for indigenous Australians is to develop role models who inspire younger indigenous people to take a full and productive involvement in the industry – particularly in tourism, which David Baffsky, believes is a ‘natural’ for the indigenous community.

Mr David Baffsky AO
David Baffsky chairs the Tourism Advisory Committee of the Indigenous Land Council (of which he has been a Director since 1999) and has had extensive experience and involvement in the local, national and international tourism industry through his position as the Chairman (and now Honorary Chairman) of Accor Asia Pacific - the largest hotel and tourism company in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region.
