In October 2005 the Queensland Government opened the Smart State University Internships Funding Program for universities to create new or enhance existing industry internship programs for science, engineering and technology undergraduate students.
The key objective of the program is to assist undergraduate students in the science, engineering and technology disciplines to develop work-ready skills through industry internship placements.
Bond University has been granted funding for this program jointly to the Faculty of Business, Technology & Sustainable Development, School of IT and the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine for the disciplines of:
- Biomedical Science
- Forensic Science
- Information Technology
We see this funding as an opportunity to enhance the development of work-ready skills through dedicated professional experience as well as enhancing employment prospects through collaboration with relevant employing organisations.
