Child Safety Officer, Department of Child Safety

2003	Enrolled in Bachelor of Health Science (Child Care) attracted by Bond’s small classes and fast-tracked two-year program. Appointed Research Assistant to Professor Caroline Fewster and gained valuable research experience working on ‘Legal Issues in Children’s Services’ project.
2004	Gained workplace experience through practicum at Robina Grove Child Care Centre and was offered a full-time position there as Group Leader.
2005	Through contact made at on-campus presentation by the Department of Child Safety, was offered a position as Child Safety Officer, working with community services and agencies to protect the rights of children. Returned to Bond campus to address current students and industry representatives at the university’s Children’s Services Professional Development seminar.
