Bond University’s Science Week program features full-day sessions designed to open students’ eyes to the diverse and exciting career opportunities within the science industry.
Bond University's Science Week Program has been specifically designed for Grade 10 science, mathematics and physical education students. Activities are hands-on, interactive and educational, and fall into one of two themes:
1. Inner effects of unhealthy lifestyles. In the morning session, students will be provided with details of a patient, perform laboratory tests, and examine diet sheets etc to diagnose the patient (similar to the television show, House). The afternoon session will involve a series of activities to do with heart and lung capacities and testing for this under differing environments. This session will run on Monday 4 August and Wednesday 6 August.
2. The Science behind the Sport. Students will participate in a visit to the Sports Laboratory to see a V02 Max Test, participate in anatomy sessions and hear a brief presentation about the business side of sport, Sport Management. This session is designed specifically for students interested in studying Exercise Science, Sports Science or Sports Management and will run on Tuesday 5 August.
Registration is now closed. Please register your interest for Science Week 2009.
