15 October 2007

The philosophy of the new Masters of Sports Science* is to produce high quality graduates who will be recognised for their:

  • excellent integrated knowledge base and an evidence-based approach to athletes performance and the performance of their coaches
  • refined problem solving skills
  • effective written and verbal communication
  • successful transistion of information and practical skills from the classroom to real life situations
  • teamwork and approach to collaborative relations
  • commitment to ethical behaviour and decisions
  • significant and reliable judgements

One of the underlying strengths of the curriculum proposed for the Master of Sports Science is the collegial and collaborative support from the other academic groupings at Bond University including Biomedical Sciences, Behavioural Sciences and Sustainable Development.

The curriculum will deliberately focus on an evidence-based approach to inform Sports Sciences practice. Learning strategies will include a mix of lectures and tutorials, problem solving sessions, theoretical reasoning and directed student learning through the Clinical Science subject.
