Bond Science Week Oversubscribed for 2008

11 August 2008

Over 160 Year 10 and 11 local high school students participated in exciting science activities at Bond last week.  Students from AB Paterson, Somerset College, St Andrews Lutheran College and Lindisfarne participated in hands on activities such as glucose level testing, dissecting the hearts and lungs of pigs, testing heart rates and participating in problem-based learning exercises.

The activities form Bond University’s commitment to National Science Week - a week designed to celebrate the contribution of Australian scientists to the world, encouraging interest in scientific pursuits and inspiring young people to become fascinated by the world in which we live.

Over 95% of the students who attended indicated they plan on going to university.

The program was over-subscribed this year and plans are already underway to make the 2009 event even bigger.

Schools/teachers/students are encouraged to register their interest now for 2009. Register your interest online.
