Student and Staff Medical Clinic
As the name states, The Student and Staff Medical Clinic is a facility provided for currently enrolled Students and Staff members of Bond University. Due to the high volume of students requiring medical assistance the Clinic is unable to assist alumni, family members of Students and Staff or members of the community.
The Student and Staff Medical Clinic is located within the Student Services Office [Guide - location 10]. Clinic appointment hours are: 9am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, Monday to Friday. The Clinic does not offer weekend, public holiday or after hours care. In the event of an emergency after hours, students living on campus should contact Security (51234).
There is bulk billing available for Medicare and OSHC Worldcare insurance holders (a $5 surcharge currently applies to OSHC Worldcare). For all other types of insurance holders a consultation fee applies. This is currently $40 cash (no credit cards or EFTPOS facilities available).
The Clinic is not equipped to care for children. Students and Staff with children must be registered with a local medical practitioner. Contact information for local medical practices may be obtained from the Clinic.
Doctor
Dr. Peter Karsas operates his General Practice from the Student and Staff Medical Clinic.
All appointments are to be made through Sharon Duffy (Medical Clinic Receptionist) on 5595 4043 or 54043 if you are on campus.
Nurse
Sister Sue Hadfield is available for help with:
- health concerns such as coughs, colds, wound care and other first aid
- dietary needs

- advice on dentists, optometrists and other specialists.
If the problem is more serious, such as a disability issue, then students should feel free to discuss this with Laura Ryan, the Disability Support Officer.
