Clear Thinking & Reasoning
Critical thinking is an essential for secondary students who have career ambitions, be they tertiary or workplace.  This subject aims to enhance all students’ talents in the areas of reasoning, critical analysis, logic, argument formation and drawing conclusions on a sound basis.
Communication Skills (University Core subject)
The ability to communicate effectively is important in studies and in professional life.  This subject develops communication skills in research, writing essays, reports and short business documents, working cooperatively in teams and presenting group projects.  It also provides an overview of communication theory and an insight into the processes of professional communication.
History of Western Thought
This subject aims at enhancing students’ understanding of the fundamental ideas which have shaped the West.  The subject will introduce students to the major shifts in thought which have created the contemporary scientific and post-enlightenment West:  The movement from myth to reason and science, the invention of democracy, the major scientific and economic ideas, and the development of intellectual property.
Information Technology 1 (University Core subject)
This unit introduces students to the concepts and theory of information technology, preparing students to operate comfortably in an information society. In addition, students will work in the PC laboratory to fulfil the requirements of the practical work. Students will be exposed to a variety of standard PC software packages.
Introduction to Economics
This subject looks at how our resources are produced, distributed and consumed and the economic problems associated with how businesses, governments and households use scare resources.  The subject will also look at what the overall ramifications are on the social, political and economic environments.
Organisational communication and behaviour
This subject will explore the diversity in communication, corporate culture, leadership, teamwork and ethics, and is aimed at laying the foundations for students who are not only preparing for their higher education studies but their future working life.  Students will be introduced to the essential skills required to understand the role of communication in organisations and how to influence human behaviour.
Introduction to Multi-Media
This subject will introduce students to the broad range of areas that combine under the banner of Multimedia. The subject will define the term Multimedia and its function within the multimedia industry, film & television, advertising production, website design, journalism, photography and the video gaming industry. On completion of this subject students should have a basic understanding of the theory behind multimedia and a grasp of the hands-on skills required. Students should also be able to make informed decisions regarding further study and possible career paths within the Multimedia and related industries.
Law & Society
This subject will introduce students to the operation of the legal system within Australian society, with particular emphasis on the structure of our legal institutions, and the regulatory regimes which exist within areas of the law dealing with issues such as criminal behaviour, family relationships, and the rights and duties of individuals towards each other.
Literature in English
The subject will explore some of the most famous authors and their stories, as well as texts that expose a diversity of cultural, ethical and religious issues.  The subject will help students understand a wide variety of cultural perspectives and gain an appreciation of how reading practices impact on our understanding of literature.
Foundation Maths
This course provides students with the opportunity to bring their quantitative mathematical skills up to a standard that is required for future studies at Bond University.  It also provides new material that is essential to understanding business-related problems
World History & Geography
What significant events, people, places and concepts have shaped the world?  This subject will explore both the ancient and modern worlds and traditional civilisations (incl. Eastern, Western, South American and African), and how historical interactions between such civilizations have impacted on and shaped the modern world.
PSYC11-101 Introduction to Psychology: Learning and Social
This subject introduces students to the science and profession of psychology. The subject overviews theory and research across a number of a number of domains within the discipline (e.g., Learning and Social Psychology) and describes how research in these domains contributes to our understanding of human behaviour. At the end of this subject, students will (1) understand the nature of psychological research, (2) understand the research methods employed, and (3) the implications of this research for the professional practice of psychology.
