Hi I'm Ben Shaw. I'm a Professor of Human Resource Management at Bond University. I moved to the Gold Coast with my wife Cyn D Fisher in 1990 and we have both been teaching at Bond ever since. I teach strategic human resource management, business ethics and corporate social responsibility in the MBA program.

mY cAREER sO fAR:I taught at Texas A&M University, the National University of Singapore and the University of Baltimore before taking up my position with Bond University in 1990. I have had numerous articles published in management and human resources journals, and am co-author of the text Human Resources Management (with C.D. Fisher and L. Schoenfeldt). My most recent research is in identifying the nature, causes, and outcomes of bad leadership in organisations.
WHY I CHOSE BOND:After spending a year teaching in Singapore, my wife (Cyn D Fisher) and I realised there was a lot more to the world than the U.S. academic scene. Bond had a lot of attractions. It was a in a great country that we had visited and in a very nice part of that country- the Gold Coast. It was small and different - a place where individuals could make a difference
