Karen
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Hello, I'm Karen Murphy and I'm a Bond Alumnus. Currently I'm Chief Executive Officer at Remuneration Services - a company that fundamentally does outsourced salary packaging to the whole of government, charities & the corporate sector.
mY cAREER sO fAR:Doing my MBA at Bond was critical in me changing my career path. I'd been working overseas in sales and marketing of hi-tech medical equipment for the best part of a decade and was looking for a change. The MBA was critical in giving me the credibility to look at roles outside the sector that I'd been working in. After graduating from my MBA in 1999, I joined Hewlett Packard as National Manager of their Healthcare Services Groups, before being appointed CEO of the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation (Brisbane) in 2002. In May 2007, I was appointed CEO of Remuneration Services.
MY BOND EXPERIENCE:I look back over my years at Bond very fondly. I made a lot of friendships there and had one of the most wonderful years of my life. Although it was very hectic and quite overwhelming at times, it was very rewarding. At the end of the year I felt that I was well equipped to go back into an executive role and the knowledge I gained set me in good stead for my future roles as CEO.
