Angus Ledgerwood

Bachelor of Film & Television

Gold Coast, QLD

What is your ultimate ambition in life?
To run a movie studio in the States. No Australian has ever held a position like that – maybe I could be the first!

How are Bond’s world-class professors helping you get there?
The professors all have great industry experience and contacts, and bring guest lecturers in to talk to us. Through one of those guest lecturers, I managed to line up some work experience on a television series and feature film being shot on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane. That experience, plus the fact that I was doing a degree in Film and Television got me across the line for nine months’ work as a Location Assistant on the Chronicles of Narnia.

I’ve now set up my own production company – False Start Productions. I got some help on the company set-up and contracts side of things from Bond Law and Business professors. I’ve done a couple of commercial jobs, including a music video for Skinwalkers, so I’m already on the way to where I want to be.

How is the international network of contacts you’re gaining at Bond helping bring your ambition to life?
I’m planning to move to the States in 2012 and I’ve already got a heap of contacts over there. I’m in contact with one Bondy who’s working on music videos in Nashville. I also met a lot of industry people working on the Chronicles of Narnia and I’ll be following them all up when I get over there!
