Description
The Graduate Certificate in TESOL (PDF 74Kb) provides initial training for teachers of English as a second language. It provides the basis for language teaching methodology and its practical applications.
Students are required to complete at least 100 hours’ theory and at least 6 hours’ supervised classroom teaching.
Professional Outcomes
Successful completion of the course qualifies you to teach in an Australian ELICOS institute or the school system providing you hold a recognised, pre-service teaching qualification or a recognised degree or diploma and 800 hours of teaching ESL experience. Further Study
Students who wish to continue towards a Postgraduate Diploma of Arts (Language Teaching/TESOL) or Master of Arts (Language Teaching/TESOL) or Master of Arts program will receive credit for two subjects (the equivalent of twenty credit points).
