Program Overview
Find your voice in architectural design!
At the Soheil Abedian School of Architecture, we locate postgraduate architectural design centrally at the core of our academic and professional education that exists in a rich cross-disciplinary situation with complex networks of knowledge, processes, and application. We develop the student’s architectural orientation, and graduates will have an original, individual architectural design acumen that allows them to engage with meaningful initiative in 21st Century architecture. Our program educates the global architect for regional, national, and international contexts.
The Master of Architecture develops the emerging architectural professional and challenges the individual to discover or develop a personal stake in the architectural world. As the undergraduate degree prepares a student with transferable skills and knowledge, this postgraduate program develops from that platform and is differentiated by the exploration of cutting edge architecture through specialised abilities and inclinations whilst encouraging an original voice in architectural design in a supportive and provocative environment. As a boutique institution, the Soheil Abedian School of Architecture has developed partnerships with leading schools, educators, and professionals and we embrace a variety of design pedagogies, which in turn are made available in our courses.
Facilities
The Soheil Abedian School of Architecture features competition winning purpose-designed school buildings that reflect our approach to multi-valent pedagogies. It is equipped with state of the art computing and fabrication suites, workshops, teaching studios and learning spaces in a creative environment that encourages students to explore and innovate within an academic and scholarly supportive culture.
Professional Outcomes
Bond’s Master of Architecture is a postgraduate professional program, academically preparing the graduate to acquire requisite work experience to gain eligibility towards the professional status of Architect in Australia, or overseas.
Graduates with an architectural education face the world with a confidence that has seen them establish strong careers in the creative arts, innovative planning, strategic management, and visionary leadership, besides bearing meaningfully on the built environment and human habitats.
The Master of Architecture prepares graduates for multiple routes in further higher education. The Elective offerings and the Research Dissertation offer a level of academic work in a student portfolio that is typically acceptable in applications for further higher education.
Professional Recognition and Accreditation
Professional status is governed at State level in Australia, and professional registration overseas is governed by the relevant professional authority. Bond’s Architecture program has received a successful Preliminary Assessment by the Australian Institute of Architects/Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA)/Board of Architects of Queensland in 2012.
