Description
The Master of Arts (LOTE) program provides specialist training in English language teaching theory and methodology and its practical applications for prospective and current teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) or Languages Other Than English (LOTE). The program is designed to meet the teaching standard of ELICOS centres, specialist language teaching colleges and university language centres in Australia and overseas.
Work Experience & Internships
Internships and work placements are available with permission from the Faculty.
Professional Outcomes
Successful completion of the course qualifies you to teach in an Australian ELICOS institute or the school system providing you hold a recognised, pre-service teaching qualification or a recognised degree or diploma and 800 hours of teaching ESL experience. You may also find employment in related areas like politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, drama and pedagogical pursuits, where language skills are highly valued.
