Master of Information Technology (Industry)

No longer available for applications after September 2012 semester.

Duration: 16 Subjects (165 Credit Points)

Description

The Master of Information Technology (Industry) offers people with an IT diploma, relevant work experience or graduates of any discipline the opportunity to acquire a professional qualification in information technology. A six-week industry placement gives you exposure to information technology in an Australian industrial setting. Foundation subjects help bridge the gap between diploma and degree graduates and provide you with the background knowledge to confidently operate within an IT environment. Elective subjects provide you with the specialist skills required for professional IT pathways.

Work Experience & Internships

The School of Information Technology (SIT) acknowledges the importance of practical experience and the application of knowledge to live scenarios as valuable graduate attributes for graduates entering the ICT industry. To this end, the SIT offers opportunities for the student to either undertake an Industry project as part of a student’s program of studies or as an additional non credited work experience option.

The SIT has a comprehensive Internship program that optimises the relationships that the SIT has with the ICT Industry and its complimentary partners. It is our aim to assign projects, where possible, that not only provides valuable experiences for the student but has deliverables that is beneficial to the Industry partner as well.

Professional Recognition

The Master of Information Technology (Industry) program is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at Professional level.
