Academic Requirements
Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent. The Bond College offers a Foundation Program for students who do not currently have the required academic qualifications. All Candidates will be interviewed prior to acceptance into the program and all candidates will be asked to provide evidence of their creativity and interest in design and architecture.
Evidence of creativity and interest in design and architecture (portfolio)
The portfolio may be compiled from a broad range of material and documentation to illustrate the applicant’s passions and creative endeavour.
The material may include:
- photos of models, furniture art and craft work;
- sketches, paintings, drawings, cad drawings,
- designs for buildings, cars/ boats, industrial design;
- photographs of places that you like with a caption describing its significance to you and/or to the people who interact with it;
- a description of a place/building that you know with a critique attached by someone else and then accompanied by your own critique.
- Your passions ... from sport to creative arts, drama, music etc.
The material must include:
- Maximum of one page (A4 pages at 12 point font text) describing why you want to be an architect and what attracts you to study and complete your architectural education at Bond University.
- Maximum of one page (A4 pages at 12 point font text) describing a place that is meaningful to you because of your own association with it.
The Portfolio must conform to the following specifications:
- Electronic file labelled and identified by the applicant’s name and contact details.
- File size: maximum 10 MB.
- Pages in file: maximum of 15 individual pages (more than one image per page is acceptable).
- Image files must be JPEG and readable from Adobe 7 onwards.
- No sound or animation permitted.
English Language Proficiency Requirements
As tuition is delivered in English, all international students will be required to provide documented evidence of the required level of proficiency in the English language. Read more detailed information on English Language Proficiency Requirements for university study.
Credit for Prior Study
Subject credits may be awarded for previous studies. To apply for credits, you will need to submit academic transcripts including detailed course outlines/subject descriptions for each relevant subject and/or certified copies of testamurs at the time of application.
