Program Description
Bond’s Environmental Science degree combines the elements of science and technology to produce leading environmental scientists. You will learn about natural resource management and be at the forefront of this rapidly changing industry. This degree includes extensive field work so you can experience the unique Australian environment first-hand while also learning to understand how it functions and how we can manage human impacts.
Work Experience and Internships
Internships and work placements are encouraged. They provide students with the opportunity to apply skills and knowledge learnt while studying and maximise opportunities for career progression after they complete their studies. An Industry Placements Officer assists students in sourcing work experience and internship opportunities.
Professional Outcomes
Environmental scientists are needed by government and industry across a wide range of sectors including mining and energy, transportation, fisheries and agriculture, tourism, planning and property, and community infrastructure. There are diverse job opportunities in urban and regional Australia, as well as overseas. You will be provided with an in-depth understanding of all facets of environmental impact assessment. You will learn how to apply your scientific skills to both global and local environment decision-making processes and develop a thorough understanding of the natural environment and the methods for undertaking environmental field research and analysis. You will also develop the skills needed to monitor a diverse range of ecosystems including coral reefs, deserts, rainforests, wetlands and coastal dunes.
