Business English will teach you how to communicate more effectively in the business world.

This course is suitable for upper-intermediate English students. All students must pass the entrance test to be admitted. The required English level is approximately IELTS 5.0 - 6.0. If your English is not at the required level you will be asked to follow a program of General English first.

Previous experience in Business is an advantage, but is not essential.

You can study Business English with a tourist visa or working holiday visa. If you are planning to continue your studies you will need a student visa.

course LENGTH

Business English programs are ten weeks.

You should note that:

  • Classes commence every five weeks.
  • The minimum study period for BE is five weeks.
  • The BE course is full time.
  • Full time students study 25 hours per week.

COURSE CONTENT

The Business English course includes teamwork, the office, communication, corporate hospitality, company structures and systems, buying and selling, customer service, travel and conference meetings, reporting results, health and safety, marketing, presentations, jobs and careers.

This course will teach you how to communicate more effectively in Business English in all four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening.  You will also improve your grammatical accuracy and expand your vocabulary. 

Classes are small and are organised to make sure that each group includes people from as many different countries as possible.

course assessMENT

Your work will be continuously monitored by your instructors to assess your progress. You will also complete homework and participate in classroom projects. You will have tests and receive a written report every 10 weeks.

When you begin your course you will be advised of the textbooks you will need to buy.
