School Group Events – 2006
As part of the National Science Week 2006 activities, Bond University invited high school students (Grades 10, 11 and 12) on campus to take part in a series of interesting, practical sessions sure to fire up their enthusiasm for a career in science.
All students considering a career in science, sports or medicine were encouraged to attend this full-day event, offered on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 August. Nearly 100 students from local schools took part in activities over the two days. Of these students:
- 98% said they would recommend the Science Week program to their friends.
- 75% said that the program assisted them in considering areas they might like to study at university in the future
- 96% rated their satisfaction with the day as four stars or better
One teacher commented that it was an “excellent program [with] topics well chosen for years 11 & 12 students.”
