The Bond University School of Information Technology presents the IT Teachers Forum with guest speaker, Mr Steve Dalton, Co-founder of Refactor. Steve will provide a grass roots perspective on the local IT Industry and the opportunities for participation for both school students and schools.
The IT Teachers Forums are held three times per year and offer IT Teachers and Career Advisors the opportunity to network with fellow colleagues and Academics from the Bond University School of IT over a three course meal and presentation.
About the Speaker:
The Gold Coast has a large and vibrant IT community and Steve Dalton is heavily involved with the local developer community, starting several user groups and also running the successful "un-conferences", called Barcamps, both here on the Coast and in Brisbane. He is also very active in the global community, contributing to several open source projects, writing journals and co-hosting the developer podcast http://codingbynumbers.com.
A popular presenter on the ICT speaking circuit, Steve is recognised for his enthusiasm and knowledge of technologies such as GNU Linux, emerging programming languages, Android development and Free/Open Source
