BarCamp (Hosted by Bond University)

BarCamp is a free flowing event, with a series of participant led discussions held over a day. Known as an ‘unconference’, BarCamp is a unique event where there are no spectators, only participants. Anyone can nominate themselves to talk about a topic – whether it is about a new technology, their current project or a product.

This free event is hosted by the School of Information Technology at Bond University and provides opportunities for networking with other like-minded people, generating new ideas and connecting people with business partners.

IT research student Matt Carter attended the recent BarCamp and would definitely recommend it to others.

“BarCamp is a unique event that you really need to experience to understand. You can choose which talks to attend based on what interests you, and because of the different mix of people, there’s always something interesting going on,” said Matt.

BarCamps are held regularly around South-East Queensland.
