Abstract
With increasing delegation of knowledge processing to local environments, information architectures need to evolve to deal with local control issues such as context, knowledge delivery and coordination of multiple sources of information. This talk will look at several research projects which are working on aspects of distributed decision making. These include a push-based approach to information delivery using local filtering, a mechanism for finding the right context for knowledge processing and using the analytic network process to coordinate the overall decision process. In each case the potential application to healthcare will be considered.
