Bond University’s School of Information Technology is committed to promoting careers in ICT. As part of National ICT Careers Week, which runs from 23-29 July, the School will be hosting a number of events for young people to help them discover the vast opportunities available in the industry.
Head of School Professor Iain Morrison said the School will be visiting Toowoomba students before running two IT experience days on campus.
“As part of National ICT Careers Week, we will be showcasing the study and career opportunities in information and communications technology,” said Professor Morrison.
“Academic staff will be visiting Centenary Heights on Thursday, July 19 where over 250 students in years 10 to 12 will get an opportunity to learn about our digital future and have hands-on demonstrations of some exciting IT applications.
“Following that, we are inviting school students to our campus to participate in two experience days where they can learn about some of the latest IT topics including mobile applications, cloud computing and information security and participate in interactive sessions.”
Year 11 and 12 students are invited to participate in one or both of the experience days on Tuesday, July 24 and Wednesday, July 25.
