Entrepreneurship and family business academics in the School of Business are once again trading lecture rooms for class rooms this month and taking Bond’s expertise in this area on the road.
Associate Professor Justin Craig and Assistant Professor Baden U’Ren have again embraced Bond University’s ‘Blue Sky Lecture’ initiative and are continuing to grab every opportunity to share Bond’s distinctive entrepreneurship and family business message with partner schools around Australia.
Eight partner schools were visited in 2010 and already in 2011 five schools have received classroom visits including All Saints Anglican School and Marymount College on the Gold Coast and Knox School, Xavier College and Korowa Anglican Girls School in Melbourne.
These Blue Sky Lectures are aimed to inspire students to think about their future ambition and the opportunities that are available to them as budding entrepreneurs and within the family business sector.
Over the last three years Dr Craig and Dr U’Ren have overseen the development and introduction of a leading edge entrepreneurship and family business curriculum, which is consistent with Bond University’s mission commitment to free enterprise and the Faculty of Business leadership’s decision to include entrepreneurship as one of three strategic imperatives.
“Importantly, as part of our Blue Sky lecture, we remind students that entrepreneurs create the future and Bond’s campus is the ideal place to begin their entrepreneurial journey, no matter what degree they decide to pursue,” commented Dr Craig.
