Over 30 industry representatives, school teachers and Bond staff celebrated the launch of our Event Management major on Tuesday, October 25, which is offered by the School of Hotel, Resort and Tourism Management.
Guests enjoyed canapés at the QT Hotel before Head of School Elizabeth Roberts shared about the School’s excitement in launching this new major.
Event management is a growing area and the major offered by Bond University provides students with a solid grounding about how to plan, market and host successful business events, while managing the risks associated with them. Students are able to complete the major within the Bachelor of Tourism Management.
Lindsay Wallace, Executive Director Marketing from Gold Coast Tourism, expressed her support for the new major and the need for these skills, especially in light of the growing reputation the Gold Coast as a destination for hosting high profile events. She confirmed that graduates with knowledge and skills in this industry will be well regarded.
