Information for Family Firms
Family Business Learning Community
The ACFB Family Business Learning Community is a collaborative innovation action research learning initiative in which relationships are developed among ACFB research consultants, scholars and members of multi-generational family firms. With the expressed goal of building long-lasting links with the ACFB, families in the learning community are provided a vehicle to continue to learn about and understand, not only their own family, but to learn with and from other families in business.
Current Activities
An AGES Review is an evidence-based, ACFB developed assessment framework that provides ACFB research consultants a vehicle to work with families in business to review business and family integration. Specifically, an AGES review enables ACFB research consultants to evaluate, and provide recommendations related to, architecture (systems and structures), governance (business and family), entrepreneurship (leadership and strategy) and stewardship (individual, cohort, and firm-related).
STEP is a global applied research initiative that explores the entrepreneurial process within business families, generating solutions that have immediate application for family leaders. For additional information visit http://www3.babson.edu/ESHIP/STEP
Communication Audit
An ACFB Communication Audit provides ACFB research consultants with a diagnostic that objectively determines the degree to which family business stakeholders’ views are shared and understood. Families in business that have had their communication processes audited by ACFB research consultants report significant increases in job satisfaction, as well as family and business functioning.
