Director’s Welcome

As the Founding Director, I extend a welcome to the Centre for Leadership Studies. The Centre is a Bond University centre, run by the Faculty of Business.

Joint venture operations are managed by a joint venture Board, comprising members from Bond University and the joint venture partner, and an independent Chair. Separate and discrete boards are constituted for research projects that are generated from time to time.

I was Founding Director of the Centre for the Study of Leadership, based in New Zealand. That centre was a joint venture with private industry. We undertook research and conducted executive education for the public and private sectors for six years at the early part of the 21st century. 900 managers have been through our programmes. I also was founding editor of the Journal of Management & Organization, the journal of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM).

We look forward to continuing these activities from the Centre for Leadership Studies at Bond University. Much of our work requires funding external from the university.
