Student for a Semester is a program designed for ambitious grade 11 and 12 students to get a taste of what university life is like. Students are able to participate in a university subject of interest to them while still completing their school studies.
The program is a great introduction to university life and students may be able to use the subject as credit towards future university studies.
Vertika, a year 11 student from Somerset College, is currently completing the subject Introduction to International Business through the program and has found it to be an amazing opportunity.
“The thing I’ve enjoyed the most about this experience is the lectures themselves. They are fun and informative and have helped me learn a lot,” said Vertika.
“I’ve found the classes at university are more easygoing than at school and they are focused more on interacting with the students, rather than just taking notes.
“It's a great opportunity to be able to take part in such a fantastic program and I'd highly recommend it.
“After this experience, I'm really looking forward to going to university. I think I'm going to really love it.”
