This professional development session will explore bullying behaviours from many different perspectives

  • What are bullying behaviours and what classifies as a bullying incident
  • Why and how children engage in bullying behaviours
  • Practical systems, processes and strategies to minimize bullying behaviours
  • The role of staff, children and families in creating safe and peaceful play spaces

In a nutshell … We will be discussing constructive and respectful ways of responding to bullying incidents.

Presenter: Dr Margie Carter

Dr Margie Carter works in a range of positions in care and education settings across Australia. She is an exemplary educator and a dynamic practitioner. Her work is tailored to the contexts and cultures of the infant, early childhood and primary years. She is well known as the designer of high quality professional learning sessions, up to date resource and curriculum materials in such areas as children’s social and emotional behaviours, parenting and self care. Margie is the author of several books including ‘Take a stand, lend a hand - Stop bullying now’, ‘Emotion fitness for kids’ and ‘Young children’s social behaviour’.
