A ‘roots’ performer in the true sense of the word, Juzzie Smith is a one-man band phenomenon, combining slide guitar, didgeridoo, percussion, harmonica (all played with mind-blowing mastery) and vocals, including throat singing which is an evocative form of harmonic singing that originated in Tuva, north-west Mongolia. His unique musical style embraces elements of the blues, folk, groove and roots. Above all, it is feel-good music that soothes the soul and makes the heart sing.
Juzzie Smith’s rise as a solo performer on the national festival circuit has been nothing short of meteoric. A true grassroots phenomenon and festival favourite around the world, Juzzie has become renowned for his energetic and awe-inspiring live performances. His latest album, Live @ Zamia Theatre captures the fun energy and loving relationship he creates with audiences wherever he goes.
Juzzie’s ability to share a sense of joy and playfulness through his music is what has made him so well loved by people of all ages and from all walks of life. Take some time out with Juzzie, serving up soul food for the modern world.
