Australia’s best big band drummer, John Morrison and renowned jazz singer Jacki Cooper bring their humour and swinging sounds to Bond University’s 2012 Live at Bond free music series finale.
See the swing dancers from Gotta Swing, a vintage surfboard display from Surf World Gold Coast, local historical images from Gold Coast City Council’s Local Studies Library, and some classic cars!
John Morrison opened the Sydney 2000 Olympics with his Swing City band and younger brother, James Morrison. He is a gifted educator, producer and patron of many outstanding youth bands and orchestras, and has played with numerous internationally known artists. As a mentor, John has supported hundreds of young people into successful playing careers. He works extensively in remote communities, bringing joy and education through music to Indigenous young people.
Jacki Cooper is an internationally sought after vocalist and has toured the US, Europe, Russia, Scandinavia, Vietnam and China, including performances with the Shanghai Symphony Big Band.
