Bond University will be opening its campus to the wider Gold Coast community and visitors from around Australia on Sunday, July 24, 10am-3pm, for Open Day, an annual celebration of university life.
All aspects of the university will be on show, highlighting the incredible range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses found at the university, all the while showcasing the huge variety and excitement of life on campus.
At Open Day, there is an opportunity to discover why learning at Bond is such a unique experience by interacting and meeting current students, graduates, academics and staff. There will also be the chance to chat with career development experts who will explain how the degree programs and unique learning environment at Bond, coupled with its global network can aid you in landing the dream job.
A packed program is on offer, including campus tours, interactive Faculty presentations, all-day live entertainment and networking. The Life at Bond lounge will offer a respite from all of the activity while also giving students the chance to ask current Bondies what life is like at the university.
The Faculty presentations will include interactive Architectural displays, IT seminars, Public Relations presentations on Social Media, a journalism lecture and lawyers unveiling their bag of tricks that help them ensure they never lose an argument. In addition members of the Queensland Reds victorious Super 15 team, Ben Lucas, Greg Holmes, Mike Harris and current Bond student Ben Daley will be on campus, fresh from celebrating their inspiring win.
Also attending will be the High Performance Managers from the Gold Coast Suns and Titans, as well as members of Northcliffe SLSC, Ironman and Ironwoman, Shannon Eckstein and Courtney Hancock.
As part of the Open Day sessions, Professor George Earl, Director of Bond University’s Institute of Sustainable Development and Architecture, is pleased to announce that one of Australia’s most successful businessman, Professor Clive Palmer, Executive Chairman of Mineralogy, will be making a presentation at the Institute.
In what will be an engaging and informative session, the audience will have the opportunity to gain an insight into the mind of the man who founded one of the nation’s largest mining companies and who can provide a background and potentially some solutions around some of the big economic questions effecting Australia in the 21st century.
