Arson related bushfires are increasingly being recognised as one of the major challenges for law enforcement and emergency services within our rural communities. The treatment of bushfire arsonists, and firesetters more generally, has become a focal point in discussions around how best to manage this type of criminal behaviour. Australia has a particular opportunity to be a world leader in understanding and managing this dangerous crime.
